Summary: EPAs have received much attention since they were first proposed in 2005, supporting faculty in developing programs and designing assessment procedures. Well-elaborated EPAs provide a natural construct to establish the outcome of training and create a shared mental model amongst learners and programs. This guide elaborates eight sections of a full EPA description to support curricular leaders in defining and adopting new EPAs.
