Porcine Complement Regulatory Protein CD46 Is a Major Receptor for Atypical Porcine Pestivirus but Not for Classical Swine Fever Virus

Goekce Nur Cagatay et al.

Summary: This study revealed remarkable differences in the relevance of CD46(pig) during entry of porcine pestiviruses, showing that APPV infection in cell culture depends on CD46(pig) similar to BVDV, while other porcine pestiviruses can efficiently enter and infect cells in the absence of CD46(pig).

Disruption of interferon-β production by the Npro of atypical porcine pestivirus

Chunxiao Mou et al.

Summary: The study revealed that APPV-N-pro is capable of inhibiting IFN-beta production by interacting with IRF3 and interfering with its phosphorylation, primarily blocking IRF3 activity to combat IFN-beta. Additionally, it was found that the N-terminal 31-51 amino acids of APPV-N-pro were mainly associated with inhibiting the IFN-beta response.
