Remarkable adsorbent for removal of bisphenol A and S from water: Porous carbon derived from melamine/polyaniline

Jong Min Park et al.

Summary: In this study, nitrogen-enriched porous carbons (N-PDCs) were developed from the pyrolysis of melamine-loaded polyaniline for the first time, showing remarkable adsorption performance for bisphenols in water. Among the N-PDCs, NPDC-700 exhibited excellent adsorption capacities for BPA and BPS, suggesting its potential application in water treatment.

Chitosan modifications for adsorption of pollutants-A review

Ismaila Olalekan Saheed et al.

Summary: Modification of chitosan through methods such as grafting and cross-linking is a promising approach for removing organic and inorganic pollutants from aqueous medium. The performance of modified chitosan for adsorption of pollutants depends largely on the modification method adopted, materials used, and adsorption experimental conditions. Cross-linking is commonly used for improving the stability of chitosan, although it may decrease adsorption capacity, but recent works have shown enhancement through grafting or incorporation of solid adsorbents before cross-linking.

Removal of aqueous triclosan using TiO2 nanotube arrays reactive membrane by sequential adsorption and electrochemical degradation

Xubin Qian et al.

Summary: The study investigates the removal of triclosan in water using porous TiO2 nanotube arrays as a reactive electrochemical membrane, showing efficient adsorption and degradation of TCS with stable performance during multiple cycles. The electrochemical degradation pathways of TCS on TiO2 NTA involve hydroxylation, disproportionation, dichlorination, and cleavage of ether bond under the attack of electrochemical generated center dot OH and O2 center dot-, indicating the effectiveness of the SAED method for TCS removal in waters.
