Detailed wheel/rail geometry processing using the planar contact approach

E. A. H. Vollebregt

Summary: This article introduces a new software module for automating the calculations of wheel/rail contact, using a new generic software foundation with a multibody formalism. The method can analyze the position and local geometry of the contact patches, and automatically form creepages. Experimental results demonstrate the feasibility and robustness of the approach.
