Performance of one-way carsharing systems under combined strategy of pricing and relocations

Rongqin Lu et al.

Summary: A bilevel nonlinear mathematical programing model is formulated to determine the optimal pricing and operator-based relocations in one-way station-based carsharing system. The model is solved using a genetic algorithm, and the experimental results show that the combined strategy is the best choice, achieving the optimal balance between operator's profit and traveler's cost.

A static relocation strategy for electric car-sharing systems in a vehicle-to-grid framework

Leonardo Caggiani et al.

Summary: This paper introduces the use of Electric Cars (ECs) with Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) capability as a solution for urban Car-Sharing Systems (CSSs), suggesting the redistribution of vehicles among stations at the beginning of each day to maximize the benefits of V2G technology and meet customer demands. The proposed models have been applied to a real-sized case with promising results.

A user-based relocation model for one-way electric carsharing system based on micro demand prediction and multi-objective optimization

Ning Wang et al.

Summary: This study developed a user-based relocation model with objectives of profit maximization and failure rate minimization, along with proposing two station pricing schemes: pure preferential and preferential combined with fine. The research validated the model using operational data from EVCARD in Shanghai, showing that user-based relocation can effectively reduce failure rate and potentially increase net profit.

Demand control model with combinatorial incentives and surcharges for one-way carsharing operation

Lei Wang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a method for controlling demand patterns by applying measures of combinatorial monetary incentives and surcharges. The study suggests that the proposed method can increase revenues by 22.5% compared to a scenario without demand control and vehicle relocation policies.
