Long-term dynamics of production in western Mediterranean seagrass meadows: Trade-offs and legacies of past disturbances

Carmen Leiva-Duenas et al.

Summary: This study examines sediment cores from seagrass meadows using FTIR spectroscopy and PCA analysis to identify a decrease in seagrass production along the coast since AD-1850, possibly due to various negative impacts. There is a significant long-term trade-off between seagrass production level and its temporal stability, which can help in designing more targeted management plans.
