The KLa(SO4)(2)·H2O-SrSO4·0.5H2O system was studied using X-ray powder diffraction analysis, differential thermogravimetric analysis, and electronic microscopy. The limits of existence were determined for two types of solid solutions based on the structures of alpha-SrSO4·0.5H2O and beta-SrSO4·0.5H2O.
The KLa(SO4)(2)center dot H2O-SrSO4 center dot 0.5H(2)O system was studied by X-ray powder diffraction analysis, differential thermogravimetric analysis, and electronic microscopy. The limits of existence were determined for solid solutions of two types: the ones based on the structure of the hexagonal form alpha-SrSO4 center dot 0.5H(2)O in the concentration range 10-70 mol % SrSO4 center dot 0.5H(2)O and the ones based on the structure of the orthorhombic form beta-SrSO4 center dot 0.5H(2)O in the concentration range 85-100 mol % SrSO4 center dot 0.5H(2)O.
