Performance-Based Hybrid Control of a Cable-Driven Upper-Limb Rehabilitation Robot

Summary: The CDULRR robot proposed a performance-based hybrid control with three working modes switched by tracking error. Resistance mode provides proper damping force, assistance mode adjusts stiffness coefficient by fuzzy logic, and restriction mode limits movement with damping force. Experimental results demonstrated that the controller adjusts working modes based on subjects' motor performance to provide more effective rehabilitation training. Adaptive adjustment of damping force and stiffness coefficient allows the controller to induce more active effort.
