Thio linkage between CdS quantum dots and UiO-66-type MOFs as an effective transfer bridge of charge carriers boosting visible-light-driven photocatalytic hydrogen production

Siman Mao et al.

Summary: A new strategy using thiol-laced UiO-66 as a support for anchoring CdS quantum dots has been reported. The thio linkage between UiO-66 and CdS acts as an effective transfer bridge of charge carriers, greatly promoting the interface transfer process of photogenerated electrons and holes, thus enhancing the photocatalytic hydrogen production performance.

Enhanced visible-light-induced photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline using BiOI/MIL-125(Ti) composite photocatalyst

Wei Jiang et al.

Summary: A series of BiOI/MIL-125(Ti) composites were prepared by coupling semiconductor with metal-organic framework via one-step hydrothermal method. The optimized composite showed excellent photocatalytic activity with 80% degradation efficiency for tetracycline and superior stability and reusability in successive catalytic runs. The enhanced photocatalytic activity was attributed to high specific surface area, promoting visible light absorption, and efficient charge transfer of the composites.

Novel Z-scheme MoS2/Bi2WO6 heterojunction with highly enhanced photocatalytic activity under visible light irradiation

Yu Zhang et al.

Summary: Novel Z-scheme MoS2/Bi2WO6 heterostructured microspheres were successfully prepared, exhibiting enhanced visible light photocatalytic activity for the degradation of Rhodamine B and killing of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The stable Z-scheme heterostructure facilitated efficient transfer of photoinduced electrons and holes, leading to high photocatalytic efficiency. This work provides valuable information for developing Z-scheme heterostructures with enhanced photocatalytic activities for environmental purification and energy conversion applications.
