Three metal(II) dicyanamide complexes were synthesized in the presence of 2,6-lutidine-N-oxide (2,6-lut-NO) and characterized. They feature similar structures with double mu(1,5)-bridging dicyanamide ligands and terminal aqua ligands, but differ in the coordination of 2,6-lutNO molecules to the metal centers.
Three metal(II) dicyanamide (dca) complexes have been synthesized in presence of 2,6-lutidine-N-oxide (2,6-lut-NO): catena-{[M(mu(1,5)-dca)(2)(H2O)(2)](2,6-lut-NO)} (M = Mn(II) (1), Co(II) (2), Ni(II) (3)), and characterized by IR, UV-Vis spectroscopy, single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction. The isostructural polymeric 1-D complexes feature double mu(1,5)-bridging dicyanamide ligands and terminal aqua ligands in trans-conformation around the distorted M(II) octahedra, whereas the 2,6-lutNO molecules are not ligated to the metal centers.
