Prognostic impact of neutrophils-to-lymphocytes ratio (NLR), PD-L1 expression, and tumor immune microenvironment in laryngeal cancer

Leonardo Franz et al.

Summary: This study examined the relationship between circulating inflammatory cells and tumor immune microenvironment histopathological features in laryngeal carcinoma, finding that NLR, neutrophils, and lymphocytes counts can predict disease-free survival and recurrence risk. Additionally, PD-L1 CPS >= 1 and TILs count rate >= 30% were associated with improved outcomes. Increasing NLR values were positively associated with PD-L1 CPS < 1 and TILs count rate <30%. Further research is needed to explore the role of pre-operative blood NLR as prognostic factors in LSCC immunotherapy.
