The mesoionic carbene-stabilized PS+ cation 6 has been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis for the first time. Computational investigations reveal the multiple-bond character of the phosphorus-sulfur bond, and preliminary coordination investigation shows kappa 1 ligation with the S atom bonded to Cu(I).
