The strange case of the transient HBL blazar 4FGL J1544.3-0649

N. Sahakyan et al.

Summary: 4FGL J1544.3-0649 is a blazar that exhibited remarkable behavior, transitioning from an anonymous mid-intensity radio source to one of the brightest extreme blazars in the X-ray and gamma-ray sky. The gamma-ray spectrum is well described by a power law with a photon index of 1.87 +/- 0.04, and the X-ray flux and spectral slope are highly variable, with the X-ray spectrum hardening on several observations. The broad-band spectral energy distribution can be described by a one-zone synchrotron-self-Compton leptonic model, suggesting potential implications for high-energy multimessenger astrophysics.

Summary: The study of the flat-spectrum radio quasar 3C 454.3 reveals different periods of high activity and conducts multiwavelength analysis from 2008 to 2018. Observations of the quasi-stationary component show varying spectral index behaviors in different time periods, possibly due to changes in physical conditions.
