Hyperspectral imaging for discrimination of Keemun black tea quality categories: Multivariate calibration analysis and data fusion

Guangxin Ren et al.

Summary: The study successfully developed a method to identify the authenticity of Keemun black tea quality through hyperspectral imaging, multivariate analysis, and data fusion. By combining various features, support vector machine and random forest were used to classify tea samples of seven grades, with the random forest model performing the best.

Estimation of tea quality grade using statistical identification of key variables

Menghu Li et al.

Summary: This research utilized stoichiometry to detect 19 chemical substances affecting the quality of Huangshan Maofeng tea, and established a model-based scheme using the stepwise regression method (SRM) for estimating tea quality grades. Results showed that SRM had the highest prediction accuracy with the least number of features, simplifying the chemical detection process and providing a new effective scheme for batch tea-quality-grade estimation.

Employment of an electronic tongue combined with deep learning and transfer learning for discriminating the storage time of Pu-erh tea

Zhengwei Yang et al.

Summary: This study proposed a method to discriminate the age of Pu-erh tea using a voltammetric electronic tongue combined with deep learning and transfer learning techniques, showing better performance than traditional machine learning methods. The accuracy of the proposed model for classifying Pu-erh tea was 98.80%, with precision of 98.2%, recall of 98%, and F1 score of 0.98.
