Two-dimensional sulfur- and chlorine-codoped g-C3N4/CdSe-amine heterostructures nanocomposite with effective interfacial charge transfer and mechanism insight

Xiaofeng Li et al.

Summary: This study successfully fabricated sulfur and chlorine codoped graphite CN (S/Cl-CN) and constructed a S/Cl-CN/CdSe-D heterojunction, which exhibits enhanced photocatalytic activity. The introduction of S and Cl atoms improves interlayer charge migration capability, while the substitution of S atom for N atom helps adjust the band gap.

Amine-Modified S-Scheme Porous g-C3N4/CdSe-Diethylenetriamine Composite with Enhanced Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction Activity

Yao Huo et al.

Summary: Amine modification and the formation of the S-scheme heterojunction optimize the photocatalytic CO2 reduction performance of A-PCN/CdSe-DETA composite, achieving a remarkable CO production rate of 25.87 mu mol/(h g) under visible-light irradiation without the need for a sacrificial agent. This work sheds light on the functionalization of S-scheme photocatalysts using amine functional groups, opening up vast opportunities for applications beyond photocatalysis.

In-situ synthesis of novel ternary CdS/PdAg/g-C3N4 hybrid photocatalyst with significantly enhanced hydrogen production activity and catalytic mechanism exploration

Jianfeng Gao et al.

Summary: A ternary CdS/PdAg/g-C3N4 hybrid photocatalyst was synthesized using a simple sonochemical method, exhibiting excellent photocatalytic H-2 evolution performance up to 3098.3 mu mol g(-1) h(-1), which is 968.2 times higher than that of g-C3N4. The catalyst also showed an apparent quantum yield of 9.6% at 420 nm, and the enhancement of charge separation efficiency was confirmed through various tests including photoluminescence, surface photovoltage, and electron spin resonance. This work proposes a reasonable catalytic mechanism for the ternary hybrid photocatalyst, showing potential for designing high efficient ternary hybrid photocatalysts.

CdS/Ag2S/g-C3N4 ternary composites with superior photocatalytic performance for hydrogen evolution under visible light irradiation

Shan Zhao et al.

Summary: CdS/Ag2S/g-C3N4 ternary composites were successfully synthesized as photocatalysts using a simple chemical deposition method, and characterized by various analytical techniques. Compared to pure samples and binary composites, the ternary composites showed enhanced hydrogen production activities, attributed to the synergic effect of ternary components and the introduction of Ag2S providing abundant active sites for H2 production.

Amorphous Co3S4 nanoparticle-modified tubular g-C3N4 forms step-scheme heterojunctions for photocatalytic hydrogen production

Yuanpeng Wang et al.

Summary: This study successfully reduced the recombination rate of photogenerated electron-hole pairs by constructing heterojunctions with a matched band structure, leading to improved photocatalytic H-2 evolution. The creation of a step-scheme heterojunction between g-C3N4 hexagonal tubes and Co3S4 ultra-fine nanoparticles enhanced spatial charge separation, resulting in more effective electrons for the photocatalytic reaction.

Cobalt ion redox and conductive polymers boosted the photocatalytic activity of the graphite carbon nitride-Co3O4 Z-scheme heterostructure

Tao Li et al.

Summary: By utilizing cobalt ion redox and conductive polymers (PANi) in g-C3N4-Co3O4 2D-1D Z-scheme heterojunctions, the photocatalytic hydrogen evolution performance was significantly enhanced. The Co3O4 1D nanobelt promoted the separation of photo-excited charge carriers and increased the redox capacity, while PANi boosted the transport efficiency of the charge carriers.
