Multi-mode photoluminescence, including enolemission, keto-emission, and aggregate-related emission is achieved in a Zn-II coordination polymer from excited-state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) ligands. Single-phase white light emission (WLE) and tunable emitting colors can be obtained by varying the suspending/grinding solvent system or temperature, which brings a brand-new model in developing multi-stimuli-responsive WLE materials.
