Three-dimensional printing of zirconia scaffolds for load bearing applications: Study of the optimal fabrication conditions

Summary: Yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) scaffolds with high porosity were fabricated using Robocasting, with the flow behavior and viscoelastic properties of inks optimized for 3D printing. The addition of suitable amounts of binder and coagulating agent enhanced the viscoelastic properties of inks, resulting in good shape retention and mechanical properties suitable for orthopedic applications.
