Improve optical properties by modifying Ag nanoparticles on a razor clam SERS substrate

Liting Guo et al.

Summary: Irregular substrates are typically unsuitable for enhancing surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) due to their poor uniformity, enhancement performance, and polarization characteristics. However, by intentionally utilizing the messy and irregular structures of a natural biological razor clam, this study successfully improved SERS performance through the use of treated silver nanoparticles to create relatively uniform structures. This resulted in better reproducibility, polarization independence, and higher SERS intensity, with the potential for ultrasensitive detection of thiram and applications in high-sensitivity biosensors.

Facile Preparation of Self-Assembled Chitosan-Based POSS-CNTs-CS Composite as Highly Efficient Dye Absorbent for Wastewater Treatment

Hongjie Zhao et al.

Summary: A novel nanocomposite based on octa-amino polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes (POSS), carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and chitosan (CS) was successfully synthesized for wastewater treatment, showing good stability and adsorption performance towards dyes. The maximum adsorption capacities of the composite for methyl orange and Congo red were 63.23 and 314.97 mg/g, respectively, demonstrating its potential applications in wastewater treatment and providing new insights for the preparation of self-assembled multicomposites.

Enhance fluorescence study of grating structure based on three kinds of optical disks

Mingli Wang et al.

Summary: A fluorescent substrate was synthesized based on the grating structure of discarded optical disks, and successfully applied to the detection of crystal violet. The effect of grating width and depth on fluorescence signal was explored, with different fluorescent molecules used to screen microstructures. Experimental results showed excellent stability, reproducibility, and performance in detecting crystal violet.
