Jasmonic acid: a key frontier in conferring abiotic stress tolerance in plants

Summary: Recent discoveries have shown that phytohormones like jasmonic acid play a crucial role in helping plants adapt to unfavorable environments and protect cells from harm under abiotic stresses. Jasmonic acid is involved in various physiological and biochemical processes associated with plant growth, development, and defense mechanisms. It works in a complex signaling pathway with other plant growth regulators to enhance antioxidant defense and maintain cellular integrity.

Two interacting ethylene response factors regulate heat stress response

Summary: The study revealed the positive role of ethylene signaling, ERF95, and ERF97 in basal thermotolerance of Arabidopsis thaliana and established the relationship between them. EIN3 physically binds to the promoters of ERF95 and ERF97, enhancing plant response to heat stress. ERF95 and ERF97 function genetically downstream of EIN3 and increase basal thermotolerance by regulating a common set of target genes.
