Selective hydrogenation of crotonaldehyde over Ir/BN catalysts: kinetic investigation and Ir particle size effect

Summary: The thermal treatment significantly affects the properties of Ir/BN catalysts, with the 2Ir/BN-5 catalyst calcined at 500 degrees C showing the best performance in selective hydrogenation of crotonaldehyde. The presence of small Ir particles and electron-enriched Ir species on its surface contribute to the enhanced activity and selectivity of the catalyst.
