Epidemiological Characteristics of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Infection in Different Groups of Women in Chongqing, China

Summary: Persistent high-risk HPV infection is a crucial risk factor for cervical cancer, with differences in distribution among countries and regions. This study in Chongqing, China, revealed HPV epidemiological characteristics, showing higher infection rates among infertile women and those with gynecological diseases. Significant differences in infection rates across age groups, with peaks in women under 20 and over 50, were observed. HPV-52, HPV-16, and HPV-58 were the most common subtypes among women in Chongqing.
