In silicoinvestigation of spice molecules as potent inhibitor of SARS-CoV-2

Janmejaya Rout et al.

Summary: This study identified potential inhibitors for the receptor-binding domain (RBD) and main protease (Mpro) of SARS-CoV-2 through molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulation. Piperine showed the highest binding affinity among the screened molecules and may be a more effective drug. The results of this study support further wet-lab experiments and clinical trials.

Characterization of low molecular weight protein tyrosine phosphatases of Entamoeba histolytica

Francisco Sierra-Lopez et al.

Summary: Entamoeba histolytica, an intestinal protozoan parasite, has two low molecular weight protein tyrosine phosphatase genes, EhLMW-PTP1 and EhLMW-PTP2, with one amino acid difference between them. These genes show different activities and stabilities under various conditions.

Culinary spice bioactives as potential therapeutics against SARS-CoV-2: Computational investigation

Jagadish Natesh et al.

Summary: The study revealed that selected spice bioactives have strong binding affinity with multiple targets of SARS-CoV-2, showing potential drug-likeness properties with high absorption rate, low toxicity, and pleiotropic biological functions. This suggests that spice-based nutraceuticals could be developed for both prevention and treatment of COVID-19.
