Bacterial Diversity and Chemical Properties of Wheat Straw-Based Compost Leachate and Screening of Cellulase Producing Bacteria

Zivar Mohammadipour et al.

Summary: This study aimed to identify and investigate the diversity of culturable bacteria in leachate and screen potential cellulolytic bacteria. The results showed that leachate was rich in nitrogen, potassium and iron, with a high population of bacteria. The isolated bacteria exhibited a variety of species with Paenibacillus cellulosilyticus showing higher enzyme activity.
