Scaling for rectification of bipolar nanopores as a function of a modified Dukhin number: the case of 1:1 electrolytes

David Fertig et al.

Summary: The study examines the rectification behavior of bipolar nanopores using the Nernst-Planck equation coupled to the Local Equilibrium Monte Carlo method. A single scaling parameter is proposed to describe how system parameters such as pore length, voltage, and surface charge density influence the behavior of the pore.

Ion transport in nanopores with highly overlapping electric double layers

Yoav Green

Summary: Investigating ion transport through nanopores with highly overlapping electric double layers is challenging due to the non-linear Poisson-Boltzmann equation. By leveraging the approach of Schnitzer and Yariv, a new asymptotic solution has been derived to address highly debated issues and determine the power-law scaling of nanopore conductances. The findings also compare the coefficients of transport for overlapping electric double layers with the uniform potential model.
