Mammalian nuclear TRUB1, mitochondrial TRUB2, and cytoplasmic PUS10 produce conserved pseudouridine 55 in different sets of tRNA

Shaoni Mukhopadhyay et al.

Summary: The study revealed that tRNA Ψ 55 synthase activities are carried out by TRUB1, PUS10, and TRUB2, each with different structural requirements for tRNA and compartmentalized in the nucleus, cytoplasm, and mitochondria, respectively. The activities of TRUB1 and PUS10 are not redundant, acting on different sets of tRNAs, requiring further study on the significance of this compartmentalization.

Human GTPBP5 is involved in the late stage of mitoribosome large subunit assembly

Miriam Cipullo et al.

Summary: GTPBP5 interacts specifically with the large mitoribosomal subunit proteins and late-stage mitoribosome assembly factors, suggesting an important role in mitochondrial function and late-stage maturation of mt-LSU.

Roe of GTPases in Driving Mitoribosome Assembly

Priyanka Maiti et al.

Summary: This review summarizes recent progress in the understanding of mitoribosome assembly GTPases, describing their features, mechanisms of action, and possible roles in the formation of mitoribosomal subunits. The authors also propose a unified nomenclature for mitoribosome assembly GTPases following the recent nomenclature unification for mitoribosomal proteins.

Mitochondrial Kinases and the Role of Mitochondrial Protein Phosphorylation in Health and Disease

Veronika Kotrasova et al.

Summary: Mitochondria play a major role in providing energy to cells and responding to stress factors and metabolic changes. Post-translational modification, such as phosphorylation, is a fast and efficient way for cells to adapt to changing conditions, but it also alters protein structure and function. Kinases, responsible for phosphorylation, have a significant impact on mitochondrial biogenesis and function under different cellular conditions.
