LncRNA SNHG17 promotes the progression of oral squamous cell carcinoma by modulating miR-375/PAX6 axis

Summary: The overexpression of lncRNA SNHG17 in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) was found to accelerate tumor cell proliferation and metastasis while inhibiting apoptosis. SNHG17 reduces the expression of miR-375 by sponging it, resulting in enhanced expression of PAX6. Therefore, SNHG17 acts as an oncogenic lncRNA in OSCC by modulating these pathways.

The potential use of lncRNAs in screening, treatment, and prognosis monitoring of OSCC metastasis is promising, but further research is needed to fully understand their biological function.
