The experiment study to assess the impact of hydrogen blended natural gas on the tensile properties and damage mechanism of X80 pipeline steel

Dengji Zhou et al.

Summary: This study qualitatively investigated the degradation mechanism of X80 steel in hydrogen blended natural gas environment through experimental research. It was found that an increase in hydrogen proportion significantly affects the mechanical properties of specimens, with more serious impact on notched specimens. This provides a basis for determining a safe hydrogen proportion for X80 pipeline steel when transporting hydrogen blended natural gas.
