Summary: In this study, multi-walled carbon nanotube/poly(3-hexylthiophene) and CNT-graft-poly(3-dodecylthiophene)/P3HT nanohybrids were used in the active layers of polymer solar cells to investigate their effects on performance. It was found that the PSC composed of P3HT:PC71BM:CNT-graft-PDDT/P3HT exhibited the highest power conversion efficiency, with significantly increased Jsc and Voc.

Summary: The use of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) in photovoltaics could have significant impacts on the commercial solar cell market. Three crucial research directions include the separation, purification, and enrichment of CNTs, their integration into solar cells, and efforts to improve power conversion efficiency and light absorption. Challenges and future directions involve upscaling CNT purification, identifying new material combinations, and understanding charge separation within these systems.
