Etched Fiber Bragg Grating Sensor for Quantification of DNA

Summary: This study introduces a highly sensitive and label-free technique for DNA detection using a reduced graphene oxide-coated etched Fiber Bragg Grating sensor. The sensor demonstrates a detection limit of 261.87 pg/μl and shows a linear response to dsDNA concentration in the range of 1 ng/μl to 50 ng/μl with excellent stability and repeatability. A technique utilizing UV spectrometry is proposed to quantitatively measure the DNA bound to the sensor and evaluate the DNA binding efficacy of the rGO coating.
