Early impact of COVID-19 outbreak on eye care: Insights from EUROCOVCAT group

Summary: The recent outbreak of COVID-19 has posed challenges to ophthalmological care, with a need to assess risks, postpone non-essential visits and procedures, and ensure adequate medical resources for the prevention of virus spread. Delaying essential eye procedures may lead to irreversible vision impairment and blindness, especially in older patients and those with comorbidities.
