Assessment of the Myitnge River flow responses in Myanmar under changes in land use and climate

Soe Thiha et al.

Summary: This study examines the hydrologic responses of the Myitnge River basin in Myanmar under land use and climate changes using integrated land-use modeling, downscaled climate data, and river flow simulation. The results indicate a slight increase in annual mean river flow under future climate change, with changes being exaggerated when land-use change occurs simultaneously. This study provides insights into possible hydrologic alterations in the basin under future land use and climate conditions, which can inform the development of adaptation strategies.
