Integration of Bi4O5I2 nanoparticles with ZnO: Impressive visible-light-induced systems for elimination of aqueous contaminants

Summary: The synthesized ZnO/Bi4O5I2 nanocomposites exhibit enhanced efficiency in degrading various pollutants under visible light, with the 20% ZnO/Bi4O5I2 nanocomposite showing superior photocatalytic performance compared to single samples and other composite materials. The improved efficiency is attributed to enhanced absorption towards visible light, increased surface area, and enhanced charge segregation in the binary system.
