The study presents a simple strategy to prepare metal-organic framework@graphene oxide composite materials with excellent microwave absorption performance, demonstrating that the effective absorption of electromagnetic waves is achieved through various mechanisms such as conduction loss, dipole and interface polarization, and balanced impedance matching.
Metal-organic framework (MOF)@graphene oxide (GO) composite material is a material with the advantages of GO and MOF, which can be an effective electromagnetic wave absorber. This study proposes a simple strategy to prepare MOF@GO composite materials to effectively absorb electromagnetic waves by adjusting Er, Sm, and Yb as well as adding GO to form a 3D cuboid structure. The cuboid structure of trimetal MOF@GO shows excellent microwave absorption, with the filler content being as low as 16 wt %. The reflection loss (RLmin) is -49.1 dB, and the corresponding effective absorption bandwidth (RL < -10 dB) reaches 6.72 GHz. Effective electromagnetic wave absorption stems from conduction loss, dipole and interface polarization, multiple EMW scattering, electron spin, and balanced impedance matching.
