New insights from grey water footprint assessment: An industrial park level

Huijuan Dong et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the application of greywater footprint (GWF) in assessing water pollution in industrial parks, finding that non-connected enterprises are the main sources of wastewater discharge, particularly in terms of total phosphorus (TP) and NH3-N pollution. The critical pollutants in Changzhou Economic and Technology Development Zone (CETDZ) include total nitrogen and TP, mainly from rural towns. Several measures to reduce the GWF are proposed, with increasing connection rate of non-connected enterprises identified as the most effective one.

Urban and industrial symbiosis for circular economy: Total EcoSite Integration

Yee Van Fan et al.

Summary: This paper introduces an extension of Pinch Analysis called Total Site Process Integration, which has been successfully applied to urban and industrial symbiosis projects. It enhances energy recovery and waste diversion, contributing to a more sustainable and efficient resource management system. Future work may involve exploring other waste forms, recovery processes, and drying methods to further optimize the approach.
