Impact of hybrid CO2-CO feeds on methanol synthesis over In2O3-based catalysts

Summary: This study evaluated the sensitivity of In2O3 catalysts to CO, finding a decrease in methanol productivity for most catalysts except one. Controlled formation of oxygen vacancies and resistance to sintering were identified as key factors for activation, while a combination of CO/H2O-induced sintering and CO inhibition caused performance loss. Assessment with mixed CO2-CO feeds is crucial for designing industrially viable catalysts for sustainable methanol production.
