Heterogeneous Parahydrogen-Induced Polarization of Diethyl Ether for Magnetic Resonance Imaging Applications

Oleg G. Salnikov et al.

Summary: This study presents H-1 hyperpolarized diethyl ether, which can be imaged on any clinical MRI scanner, achieving up to 1.3% nuclear spin polarization through heterogeneous hydrogenation and prolonging its lifetime. This approach has potential applications in anatomy and functional studies.

Ultra-Low Loading Pt/CeO2 Catalysts: Ceria Facet Effect Affords Improved Pairwise Selectivity for Parahydrogen Enhanced NMR Spectroscopy

Bochuan Song et al.

Summary: By manipulating the shape of ceria nanocrystals, the effect of CeO2 surface structure on Pt-CeO2 interactions was investigated, revealing higher stability of Pt on CeO2 (111). Strong electronic interactions between Pt and ceria (111) in catalytic reactions can enhance selectivity and improve NMR signal enhancement.

Hydrogenative-PHIP polarized metabolites for biological studies

Francesca Reineri et al.

Summary: ParaHydrogen induced polarization (PHIP) is an efficient and cost-effective hyperpolarization method, but faces challenges in biological investigations due to chemical limitations. Recent advancements in hydrogenative PHIP (h-PHIP) have expanded the possibilities of hyperpolarizing metabolites, offering new opportunities for biological applications.

Mechanistic in situ investigation of heterogeneous hydrogenation over Rh/TiO2 catalysts: selectivity, pairwise route and catalyst nature

Ekaterina Pokochueva et al.

Summary: The selectivity of product formation is closely related to the nature of catalyst active centers. Synthetic procedures and precursor used for catalyst preparation play crucial roles in determining the product selectivity. Additionally, the use of parahydrogen can enhance NMR signals for synthesized catalysts, and the decoration of rhodium nanoparticles with titania can restrict hydrogen mobility on the surface, leading to high selectivity towards the pairwise hydrogen addition route.
