Role of Conical Intersections on the Efficiency of Fluorescent Organic Molecular Crystals

Miguel Rivera et al.

Summary: Organic molecular crystals are widely used for luminescent applications due to their tunability, but understanding the link between chemical structure and emissive behavior remains challenging. This study focuses on the role of conical intersections in the photomechanisms of five organic molecular crystals, highlighting their importance in determining luminosity. The accessibility of conical intersections, in conjunction with other nonradiative decay channels, plays a significant role in the fluorescence quantum yield of these materials.

Summary: An organic light-emitting transistor (OLET) combines the characteristics of an organic field-effect transistor (OFET) and an organic light-emitting diode (OLED), allowing for controllable photoelectric coupling conversions. While OLET devices show potential for advanced display technology and multifunctional optoelectronics, they have yet to meet industrial requirements due to limitations in material performance and device fabrication techniques.

Efficient Solution-Processed Hyperfluorescent OLEDs with Spectrally Narrow Emission at 840 nm

Afshin Shahalizad et al.

Summary: Efficient organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) are crucial for cost reduction and environmental sustainability. This study demonstrates the use of a thermally activated delayed fluorescent (TADF) material as an assistant dopant to achieve pure NIR-emitting fluorescent OLEDs with an external quantum efficiency of up to 3.8%, showing more than three times higher efficiency than previously reported products in this spectral range.
