METHIONINE-INDUCED CHANGES IN GROWTH, GLYCINEBETAINE, ASCORBIC ACID, TOTAL SOLUBLE PROTEINS AND ANTHOCYANIN CONTENTS OF TWO Zea mays L. VARIETIES UNDER SALT STRESS

S. Perveen et al.

Summary: The study showed that foliar application of methionine can significantly improve growth and physiological indicators of maize plants under salt stress. Among the two maize varieties, DTC (hybrid) and Malika, the 50 mg L-1 methionine treatment performed better in alleviating the adverse effects of salt stress.
