Fatigue-Related Cognitive-Behavioral Factors in Survivors of Childhood Cancer: Comparison with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Survivors of Adult-Onset Cancer

Sylvia van Deuren et al.

Summary: The cognitive-behavioral factors that can maintain fatigue were found to be similar between CCS, CFS patients, and ACS, but differences were observed in attribution of fatigue, sleep/rest patterns, social support, and depressive symptoms. These differences may have clinical implications for providing CBT for fatigue to CCS.

Fatigue among children with a chronic disease: a cross-sectional study

Merel M. Nap-van der Vlist et al.

Summary: Fatigue among children with a chronic disease is multidimensional. Various generic biological/lifestyle, psychological, and social factors are strongly associated with fatigue, explaining 58.4%, 65.8%, and 50.0% of the variance in fatigue, respectively. Overall, almost three-quarters of the variance in fatigue can be explained by this biopsychosocial model.
