Summary: Microcystin-LR poses a threat to aquatic animal reproduction and can be transferred from male prawns to their offspring, causing immune disorders and abnormal development. Exposure to Microcystin-LR results in increased mortality and decreased immune and antioxidant abilities in F1 larvae. Continued exposure to Microcystin-LR leads to mitochondrial apoptosis and cross-generational immunotoxicity in untreated prawns.
