A novel one-pot method was used to synthesize flake-shaped NaBiO3/PNMA photocatalyst, and the interaction between NaBiO3 and PNMA significantly enhanced the photocatalytic activity. The composite showed improved hydrophobicity, increased light absorption range, and enhanced separation efficiency of photogenerated carriers, making it a promising material for multiple pollutant degradation.
In this work, a novel one-pot method was used to synthesize flake-shaped NaBiO3/PNMA photocatalyst. The effect of PNMA on the surface properties and photocatalytic activity of NaBiO3 was studied. The Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) results show that there is close connection between NaBiO3 and PNMA through Bi-O-C bond. The interaction between NaBiO3 and PNMA leads to a 0.6 eV upward shifting of the valence band of NaBiO3. The decorated PNMA almost does not change the morphology of NaBiO3, but the surface of the NaBiO3/PNMA composite is more hydrophobic. The strong interaction between NaBiO3 and PNMA composite results in the generation of oxygen vacancies, the increase of light absorption range, and the improved separation efficiency of photogenerated carriers. Therefore, the NaBiO3/PNMA composite has remarkable degradation ability of multiple pollutants, high photocatalytic cycle stability, and excellent resistance to acids, bases, and ions, which are important for the actual use of photocatalysts.
