State-of-the-Art Progress in Diverse Black Phosphorus-Based Structures: Basic Properties, Synthesis, Stability, Photo- and Electrocatalysis-Driven Energy Conversion

Recent research has focused on utilizing black phosphorus-based materials for photo- and electrocatalysis, particularly in the areas of water splitting, CO(2) conversion, and nitrogen fixation. Challenges and future perspectives on the development of these BP-based catalysts are also emphasized.

Summary: Various passivation schemes were applied to few-layer black phosphorus for covalent functionalisation, improving its electrochemical response. Thermal and microwave assisted modification in different solvents resulted in high reversibility of reactions. Functionalisation limited degradation under ambient conditions and provided a potential linker for protein bonding.

Two-dimensional black phosphorus nanoflakes: A coreactant-free electrochemiluminescence luminophors for selective Pb2+ detection based on resonance energy transfer

Summary: This study developed a new electrochemiluminescence assay method using two-dimensional black phosphorus nanoflakes for highly sensitive and selective detection of trace lead ions. The method demonstrated effective energy transfer between the BP nanoflakes and Ag/AgCl nanocubes, resulting in enhanced ECL emission in the presence of lead ions. This approach could accurately quantify lead ions in a range from 0.5 pM to 5 nM and presents a promising route for potential applications in clinical analysis.
