Cerium Oxide Nanoparticle-Loaded Gelatin Methacryloyl Hydrogel Wound-Healing Patch with Free Radical Scavenging Activity

Robin Augustine et al.

Summary: Hydrogel patches incorporated with cerium oxide nanoparticles were developed for promoting diabetic wound healing in this study. The patches showed excellent exudate uptake capacity and free radical scavenging activity, promoting the proliferation of skin-associated cells and effectively improving the healing of wounds in diabetic rats. The results indicate that these patches are promising materials for developing clinically relevant treatment for diabetic wounds.

Principles and Characteristics of Polymerization-Induced Self-Assembly with Various Polymerization Techniques

Erik Jan Cornel et al.

Summary: Polymerization-induced self-assembly (PISA) efficiently combines block copolymer synthesis and nanoparticle formation at high polymer concentrations, enabling the preparation of various nanoparticle morphologies in both polar and nonpolar media. This report discusses the general principles of RAFT-PISA and the nanoparticles generated from this method, as well as outlines PISA formulations that utilize other polymerization methods like ATRP, NMP, ROMP, ROP, etc. Additionally, exotic PISA formulations based on different polymerization methods are emphasized in this review, providing insights into the status and potential of PISA.
