Thermo and light-responsive strategies of smart titanium-containing composite material surface for enhancing bacterially anti-adhesive property

Jing Lin et al.

Summary: This study focused on designing a composite material surface with smart response to adjust and enhance bacterial anti-adhesion by thermo and light-responsive strategies. The composite surface was demonstrated to greatly reduce bacterial adhesion by incorporating long-lasting antibacterial and hydrophilic constituents. The durable properties of antibacterial and bacterial anti-adhesive effects make it suitable for applications in mutable environments.

An integrated strategy for achieving oil-in-water separation, removal, and anti-oil/dye/bacteria-fouling

Yufei Wang et al.

Summary: This study proposed an integrated strategy for separating complex oil/water effluents, including the design of a superwettable membrane, analysis of separation mechanism, and study of removal efficiency. Molecular dynamics simulations and experimental results showed that the synergistic effect between hydrogel electrostatic adsorption and photodegradation can efficiently remove organic dyes.
