Theory of three-magnon interaction in a vortex-state magnetic nanodot

Roman Verba et al.

Summary: In this study, the vector Hamiltonian formalism (VHF) was used to theoretically investigate three-magnon parametric interaction in a magnetic disk with a magnetic vortex ground state. The study found that the efficiency of three-wave splitting depends strongly on the azimuthal and radial mode numbers of the resultant modes. The VHF analytic calculations showed good agreement with experiments and micromagnetic simulations, demonstrating the predictive capability of the VHF formalism in determining splitting channels and driving field thresholds.
