Summary: HBcrAg shows promising performance as a serologic marker for indicating clinically important high viremia in treatment-naive chronic HBV-infected patients, with good sensitivity and specificity in distinguishing different levels of HBV DNA. However, its correlation with HBV DNA in patients treated with anti-HBV therapy is poor.
