Bacillus subtilis SL18r Induces Tomato Resistance Against Botrytis cinerea, Involving Activation of Long Non-coding RNA, MSTRG18363, to Decoy miR1918

Cheng Zhou et al.

Summary: Beneficial rhizobacteria like Bacillus subtilis SL18r can induce systemic resistance in tomato plants against foliar pathogen Botrytis cinerea. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) such as MSTRG18363 play a crucial role in this process by promoting the decoy of miR1918 and regulating the expression of target gene SlATL20. The induction of MSTRG18363 expression by SL18r enhances disease resistance and suppresses miR1918, ultimately provoking ISR responses against foliar pathogen infection.
