Adaptation assessment of drought tolerance in maize populations from the Sahara in both shores of the Mediterranean Sea

Oula Maafi et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the adaptation of maize germplasm from Saharan oases to drought conditions in temperate environments. Results showed significant differences among Algerian populations under drought, indicating that drought tolerance is genotype-dependent and varies across environments. Some Algerian maize populations may serve as suitable sources of drought tolerance for temperate environments.
