Critical review of data-driven decision-making in bridge operation and maintenance

Chengke Wu et al.

Summary: This study provides a detailed investigation into current data-driven bridge O&M decision-making, including mainstream data types, data management issues, and typical application areas. Challenges to implementing data-driven bridge O&M decision-making are identified, such as the lack of standard data needs and integration.

Genetic algorithm hybridized with multilayer perceptron to have an economical slope stability design

Hong Wang et al.

Summary: The study aimed to optimize a design combining artificial neural network (ANN) and a genetic algorithm (GA) for calculating slope stability safety factors in pure cohesive slopes. Through a series of trial and error processes, the optimized model showed proper performance with the least mean square error, utilizing a multi-layer perceptron algorithm. The optimal architecture and statistical indices of the model were evaluated for accuracy and performance.

Integration of artificial intelligence with meta classifiers for the gully erosion susceptibility assessment in Hinglo river basin, Eastern India

Jagabandhu Roy et al.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the gully erosion susceptibility using artificial intelligence and machine learning ensemble approaches. The results showed that integrating the hybrid ensemble models with MLP increased the accuracy of the models, with MLP-Dagging achieving the highest accuracy. Soil type was identified as the most important factor for predicting gully erosion susceptibility.

A variable weight-based hybrid approach for multi-attribute group decision making under interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets

Sen Liu et al.

Summary: This article presents a novel hybrid multi-attribute group decision-making approach under IVIFS, incorporating variable weight, correlation coefficient, and TOPSIS. It computes the weighting evaluation matrix based on experts' evaluation in IVIFS and proposes a weighting approach based on correlation coefficient. The method treats attribute weights as a varying vector and uses a variable weighting approach for their acquisition. Ultimately, the integrated assessment value of each alternative is calculated by TOPSIS to determine the most appropriate alternative.

Consensus Modeling with Asymmetric Cost Based on Data-Driven Robust Optimization

Shaojian Qu et al.

Summary: The paper explores robust optimization methods based on the asymmetric cost consensus model, introducing uncertain level parameters and different uncertainty sets to establish corresponding robust cost consensus models. Through sensitivity analysis of different models, it is found that the Interval-Polyhedron set's robust models have the smallest total costs and strongest robustness. Decision makers can minimize total costs by selecting uncertainty sets and levels according to their risk preferences.
