Outcomes for Pressure Ulcer Trials (OUTPUTs) project: review and classification of outcomes reported in pressure ulcer prevention research

A. Lechner et al.

Summary: Core outcome sets (COSs) have been developed in response to inconsistencies in reporting outcomes in clinical trials, with the aim of improving comparability. The OUTPUTs project focuses on pressure ulcer prevention research and the need for a COS to address the variety of outcomes and definitions used in this area.

Comparing the effects of three different multilayer dressings for pressure ulcer prevention on sacral skin after prolonged loading: An exploratory crossover trial

Anna Lechner et al.

Summary: The study compared the effects of three different multi-layer foam dressings on sacral skin and found that different dressings resulted in different cutaneous responses during loading. While all dressings were effective in increasing skin hydration, there were variations in skin temperature, roughness, erythema, and IL-1 alpha concentration among the different dressing groups.
